Aquamarine is the classic sea-blue member of the Beryl family. It comes in a range of colours from light pastel colour to a stronger blue which is rare.

Aquamarines are typically heated to reduce the green component and enhance the blue colour. However, natural untreated stones with a greenish tinge are becoming increasingly popular and we have several available (see product labelling on each gem).

The Beryl family comes in many colours ' blue (Aquamarine), green (Emerald & Green Beryl), peach-pink (Morganite), yellow (Heliodor), colorless (White Beryl/Goshenite) and red (Bixbite from Utah).

Aquamarine is a durable gemstone with a hardness of 7.5-8.0 on the Mohs Scale and can easily be used in all types of jewellery. It is the birthstone for March and celebrates the 19th Anniversary.
